Celebrating birthdays and anniverseries...

Lots of celebrations going on at my place these days, both my own birthday (I'm 51 now, can't believe it) and also celebrating being married for 14 years. These last days of summer, with really nice weather, have been perfect for family gatherings outside in the garden. I've enjoyed it so much...

For my birthday I made a lemon cheesecake and a cherry pie, according to the recipe it was "Agent Cooper's cherry pie" (From Twin Peaks, if you remember the TV-series). Delicious with some vanilla sauce.

Here's the cheesecake, I decorated it with lots of fruit.

And here's a simple digital layout I made about DH and I celebrating our wedding anniversary. It feels like it was a long time ago since I last used digital stuff...

PL is a lot of fun...

I've been doing a lot of Project Life pages recently, feeling inspired I guess and a bit more energetic than usual. I'm doing them by month not by week, haven't got pics for all weeks so I think it's easier this way.
And it really is a lot of fun...

Here's a part of January... I made some cucumber sandwishes and Madeleines for Afternoon Tea. A brittish custom I find fascinating. You can buy the grey card in the middle at Geralyn Sy's shop (In a Creative Bubble). She's a very talented designer.

Here's the whole page...

Next, a page from February, my nephew Edwin's 6th birthday.

He made his own birthdaycake, a replica of the family car, a Toyota. Not an easy goal.... Mum helped, of course.

Here's a part of June, documenting our Midsummer celebration with the traditional Strawberry Cake.

And here's the rest of the page...

Oh my, what a long post, sorry! Thanks for watching:)

Enjoying Summer...

What can be more beautiful than old fashioned roses, like this Rosa Alba "Minette", a french rose that came to Sweden around 1819. It still is fairly common as it copes so well with the Swedish climate. A tough little rosebush with a wonderful fragrance! Grows in my neighbours garden but also hangs into mine, fortunately...

What more to enjoy this summer? Well, waffles with whipped cream and strawberry jam of course! At our local cafe they make delicious one's and you can sit outside in the sun enjoying the beautiful scenery of Göta Canal (our Swedish canal running from Gothenburg to Stockholm, built between 1810 and 1832.

And when it's raining, like yesterday, there's always some PL work to be done:)
Here's a new page...

Wishing you all a Beautiful summer:)

More Project Life...

I've haven't done much, creatively speaking, for a long while but finally I've managed to make some Project Life pages. Hopefully there will be more soon:)

I've looked around on the Internet for some inspiration and also for material to buy even though I'd like to do most of it myself. I can really recommend a visit to Geralyn's blog In a Creative Bubble. She's so talented and also got a blog shop with a lot of good stuff, like journaling cards. The card with the "Delicious" headline I've used here comes from her collection.

I can  also recommend an app for Ipad I've used a lot recently called Paper by FiftyThree. I've used it mostly as a diary where I can write and draw/paint. It's a lot of fun actually... like this sketch below I made the other day. You can also see that I used one of these diary notes for the birthday cake above.

Project Life, my own version...

Although I'm way behind with my "project life" pages I really think it's a fun and simple way to document your daily life. Here's a glimpse of august 2012.

I've created some design elements myself but all the patterned papers comes from Echo Parks collection "Everyday Eclectic".

Right Now, the small things that I love...

These are a few of the things that I'm in love with at the moment; my rolls of washitape (you just can't get too many of these), my new metal box for fine chocolate and other good stuff (a gift from my sweet sister) and that good cup of cappuccino with a couple of chocolate cookies in the afternoon is a must have:)
